Although fiction, Chris Morton and Ceri Louise Thomas are the same authors that brought you the best-selling non-fiction book "Mystery of the Crystal Skulls" (currently published in 15 languages) - considered by many to be one of the best books on the subject of crystal skulls. It is refreshing to know that the writers have a true understanding of crystal skulls, rather than a "Hollywood" perspective that may be portrayed in some other books or movies.
This book, "2012, THE SECRET OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL" was actually first written as a screenplay back in 2002. Although it later received widespread attention from some of Hollywood's top agents and producers (and perhaps may have been one of the inspirations for another famous crystal skull adventure movie), the authors decided to follow the success of their highly acclaimed first book, THE MYSTERY OF THE CRYSTAL SKULLS and publish this exciting story as a novel.
When archeologist Dr. Laura Shepherd discovers her colleague dead clutching a mysterious crystal skull, she is catapulted into a shadowy world of strange omens, psychic phenomena and cryptic codes.
Her quest for the truth leads her to risk her career, her marriage, and even her life.
When she learns of a terrifying prophecy for the year 2012, she sets off on a dangerous mission, to an ancient Mayan temple buried deep in the rainforest, surrounded by armed guards - determined to unluck the skull's secret, whatever the cost.
The book is written in small bite-size chapters, making it easy to read a little bit every day - although you may find yourself so intrigued that you can't put it down, as with a Dan Brown novel. The adventure starts in 2012 with a pulse-racing timeline that culminates with events on December 21, 2012.
