AMI : AMETHYST CRYSTAL SKULL
Awaiting to fulfill a prophecy
The crystal skull "Ami" is made of very dark purple amethyst. Its unusual characteristics include holes where the jaw meets the upper face, and circular indentations around the ears/temples.

Renowned Crystal Skull Researcher F.R. 'Nick' Nocerino had the opportunity to briefly study this Amethyst Crystal Skull. Ami is one of the few that is classified and accepted as an ancient crystal skull.
It is reputed to have sat on the desk of the former Mexican President, Porfirio Diaz, who for 35 years was the absolute ruler of Mexico (from 1876-80 and from 1884-1911). The fact that President José de la Cruz Porfirio Díaz (always called Porfirio Díaz), was of Mixtec (a Mesoamerican tribe) ancestry yields possible credibility to this claim.
Most crystal skull caretakers, especially those with ancient crystal skulls, usually experience an odd series of events that leads them to the guardianship of these prized artifacts. In this particular case, the story goes that in 1908, President (General) Porfirio Diaz was willing to bring an end to his dictatorship by allowing for democratic elections. But when the official election results announced Diaz as the newly elected President, which was very obviously contrary to the popular vote, it led to the Mexican Revolution that forced Profirio Diaz to step down and flee the country.
The story further goes that the Amethyst Crystal Skull then fell into the possession of the Lascurian family. Perhaps - although unconfirmed - this may actually be related to Pedro Lascurain. This is quite possible, since the Mexican Revolution saw a series of short-lived "presidents" ascend to power. One of these men was Senor Pedro Lascurain, whom history has essentially forgotten except for the odd fact that in 1913 he was officially president for less than an hour.
The Amethyst Crystal Skull resurfaced around 1979 when a Mayan priest/shaman, Francisco Reyes, purchased the skull. John Zamora, acting as agent for Francisco Reyes, brought the Amethyst Crystal Skull into the United States.
The laboratory at Hewlett-Packard (who had previously tested the Mitchell-Hedges Skull), carried out research and concluded that no high-pressure tools were used to carve this skull. The Hewlett-Packard laboratory reportedly also found that, like the Mitchell-Hedges Skull, it was carved against its natural axis, which authenticates the Amethyst Crystal Skull as being considered an ancient crystal skull, not an old or contemporary crystal skull.
In 1983 the Amethyst Crystal Skull was put up as collateral on a loan which was never repaid. In 1985, this ancient crystal skull was acquired by a group of businessmen who have kept it in the United States.
"Ami" has not be seen by the general public for decades as it was kept in a vault with a price tag of $1 million dollars. However, it has recently (2009) changed hands and perhaps now it is ready to fulfill a prophecy.
